The Assault Begins
I think I'll keep my wrath, thank you very much.
Roos, you're so nice. I think you should go beat him to death.
Alrighty everyone, who's ready to play some Wrath in Glory?
It always sounds like we're getting murdered every single time.
Hey everybody, I am your host today, Zorn the Bear.
And of course, I have our amazing cast members to bring you here.
Starting off like Hokey.
We got Hokey.
We got Odo.
You say a sound.
Hello?
We got Speaker.
And I'm your bear.
Along with our illustrious Game Master Thurston Hillman.
Hello?
And of course, we are going to be joining us through the Warhammer 40,000 Wrath in Glory stuff today.
Also, if you notice that the text, for some reason, is in italics, I don't know.
It's just, the text, like, the Kazon antique whatever font or whatever.
It just likes to just mess with itself.
It is just, it broke today.
Don't worry about it.
Don't look at it.
It's feeling a little fancy today.
I'm looking.
I'm looking.
Yeah.
We're playing Wrath in Glory, but in italics.
Yeah, we all have a little bit of um with us today.
We're playing Wrath and, we're not playing Wrath of Glory, we're playing Wrath and Glory.
Oh.
We're playing Wrath.
Oh, yes.
I like the italics.
It's a little bit zesty.
It's a little bit new, but spicy.
Yeah.
Graphic design is your passion.
It is.
But, some things happened last episode, basically.
We have arrived in Alden's, pretty much, Rogue Trader ship over the, what was the planet called again, Thurston?
If you can help me.
Ostia.
In Ostia.
We all arrived on the planet Ostia, basically to try and pick up, basically, food for the ship.
We need to, uh, basically feed all the workers and the people inside to try and acquire more resources.
Collect a tithe, basically, if you will.
Uh, as we arrive, we notice that there is a bit of a problem going on.
Who should pull the elevators, humans or machines?
But after dealing with some stuff, investigating further in, we found out that it was the Jukari that had been pulling the strings behind.
And after settling that maybe humanity and machines could work together to pull the elevators, we decided to now go forth and grab some of the local defenses of the guardsmen up into a nearby fort, where we found out they don't got a lot of guys.
And so we have acquired the battle tractor and several, and any sort of men that we can who could wield guns to go forth to some nearby ruins that we were quite told on multiple occasions to not go there.
So that is where we are leaving off, basically, to, as the party is heading on towards there.
But of course, Thurston, you can correct me if I'm getting anything wrong.
What story do you have for us today?
Well, um, we begin our tale today with all of you on board Ethel, the battle track.
You're making your way southwest at a reasonable pace, nothing too fast, nothing too slow.
That's because that's about the maximum speed this thing can achieve.
Careful, Captain.
All this high-octane excitement is not good for my alien heart.
Oh, please, this is already embarrassing enough.
Don't make it worse.
Um, Captain Eldon Roche, can you give me a piloting check?
Difficulty 2.
I would be more than happy to give you just such a check.
Difficulty 2 is far too low for a machine like this.
Now hold on, don't help me.
Good.
I'm going to go ahead and give you seven successes with two shifts possible.
It's, this is, this is the best ride you've ever had.
Like, this, this is, this is so calming for your nerves, Captain.
You know, I never had a chance to live an agrarian life.
I've heard various Imperial Navy captains and admirals opine about the simplicity of agri-work.
Never quite believed them.
I didn't feel the call of the void, though.
Oh, I could see myself retiring to a small farm, living this sort of, well, sustainable existence.
It is a noble one.
Indeed.
And they still got corn.
Roos will still grab corn on the way.
Just drive by corn stealing.
Here you go, sir.
Here's some food.
Oh, thank you.
You know, this reminds me of a old song from my planet of origin.
Yours World.
All right, how's it going?
Yours World.
Yes, Yours World.
You're, he was the man.
Regardless, the song goes like this.
I drove my tractor through your haystack last night.
And I'm going to continue singing that song, that unknown song, uh, from my home world.
Roos regrets his existence.
Excellent.
And then he starts joining in.
Oh, no.
He catches on for it.
I've got a brand new combine harvester.
I'll give you the key.
Don't push my wheelbarrow as happy as can be.
And he's just kind of just, he's just swaying left to right.
It's causing the tractor to lean way too far.
Or it's like one wheels now out.
Like, roos.
Groos.
Much as I see the two of you are enjoying your little musical diligence,
must I remind you that we are on a diplomatic mission and sonic torture is strictly forbidden.
I've got 20 acres and you've got 23.
Well, I suppose that does make sense.
Very well.
We shall prepare ourselves in steel hearts to face the Xenos.
I mean, I do think that the Dracari are prone to being, uh, uh, tortured with this particular kind of sonic torture.
I don't think they've experienced anything quite like it.
I'd much prefer not to torture them or spend any more time in their presence as I must.
I'd much rather just put a bolt through their heads and end the entire ordeal.
Oh, speak for yourself.
If we could take one of them alive, I wouldn't complain.
Absolutely.
You'll learn a lot from a good vivisection.
Ah, I'd skip that if I were you, mate.
They might just like it, make it weird.
However one gets data, as long as data is gathered.
Oh, so you're a freak freak, huh?
I prefer myself a man of science.
Sometimes we have to get a little bit dirty to get the results you want.
Right, respect, respect.
So if I must be so basest to answer your question, Gerana, yes, I do.
Expression, get a little freaky like that.
Ah, well, thank the gods for that.
I was almost worried you were normal.
What is normal?
What is setting on a servitor?
Oh, you're too silly, Kelly.
Oh, you.
I'm normal.
You're so normal.
I'm so normal.
Just basically sitting here seething in the mirror.
Like, I'm fucking normal.
He's painting, like, lipstick on his face right now.
He's just drawing a Joker smile.
I'm so fucking normal right now.
I am light.
I am love.
I am logic and discipline manifest.
Aloysius is crazy like the Harlequins.
He's, like, standing straight.
Like, his fists are so clenched.
His muscles are, like, seizing in his arms.
He's just rocking slightly, perfectly straight up.
Horrifying.
I'm scared of him.
He's smiling, too.
Always just the man that you are.
Don't press any buttons you don't know the function of.
He presses it anyway.
Fuck.
Car horn goes off.
As you continue on, driving Ethel into sort of a hilly, rocky region.
Luckily, your captain pilots expertly through this area.
You find the edge of forests that lead to the ruins to this point, as you kind of come up.
You can hear the sounds of different groups you've assembled.
Even some sporadic gunfire off in various distances.
The path you are taking, though, is leading you directly towards themselves.
However, it quickly becomes apparent that there is a group ahead.
There are 20 citizens.
Each of them sort of wielding scrap metal.
A couple lumen strips that they hold up as impromptu torches.
This is a mob.
It is a mob of 20 individuals.
And this mob is guarding the path ahead.
Oh, dear.
Is it local flavor?
Most likely, it is those cultists of before.
Carona, there may be a chance for us to get past this without violence, however faint.
Possibly.
Bruce, prepare yourselves for a fight.
You don't mind posing as the enemy for a moment, do you, Carona?
Oh, not a problem at all.
Besides, what's a mob to the guy with the fanciest hat in the room?
Exactly my thinking.
All right.
We're going to just drive up on this mob like it's no big deal.
Yep.
Oh, they seem to, like, react.
You have shouting people who are, like, wielding weapons, and you hear shouts of,
Go back!
Go back!
You're not welcome here!
Sir, what if they touch the tractor?
That is highly unlikely.
But what if they do, sir?
Carona, you'll have to help me here.
I'll start, but you finish.
Yeah, yeah.
I'm going to stand behind, uh, Captain Rosh, and I'm going to straighten up to my full height,
and I'm going to do my best to look very intimidating.
Hail, cattle!
Your masters require urgent audience with one of their own.
Pass and let us through.
Immediately.
A junction comes from Lord Xanthor himself.
Bruce helps punctuate the statement by basically making a loud rack.
He racks his ripper gun in a loud clink.
The...
The runes are sacred.
You're not allowed to trespass.
Oh, you blithering moron.
My lord, could you explain to these fools the nature of our visit?
Of course.
Kelrana is going to stalk forward.
I'm going to find whoever is the head of this group, whoever's the one speaking,
and I'm going to get close to them and kind of just loom as best I can.
Hi.
We know that these places are sacred.
They're coming here to pray.
And if you knew what was good for you and know what happens to the unbelievers
that prevent my loyal disciples from coming here to pray,
you'd get out of the way now.
Give me a intimidation check.
Can we do that?
Before all the assists come in.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Give me an intimidation check and a difficulty of five, please, Kelrana.
Indeed.
We've only got one glory, but I've got a DN5.
I've got a dice pool of six, so it's not terrible.
You can do it.
You can do it, I believe.
Yeah.
Stranger things have happened.
Stranger things have happened.
Hey.
Oh.
I have successes.
Very nice.
Okay, so you find that the group here is very sort of apprehensive now.
They are concerned about your presence, and they're not backing down fully.
But you've got them sort of uneven.
You feel like if you wanted to push by, you could either, you have two options here.
You could try to get more successes tier and possibly some shifts through, you know, wrath and then glory.
Or you have a feeling you can get the drop on this mob if you just sort of drop the pretences, order an attack, and you and your allies could probably get some serious damage before they could react.
Um, I think we're going to probably try to go about this non-violently first.
We had a good start here.
We've got a little bit of glory, and I've got a little bit of wrath, and we haven't had any assistance yet.
Okay.
So you can do the wrath to reroll, and that's just, like, the right-click reroll, like, if you want to do that.
Yeah, so you do the wrath force first, and then you add to glory.
Yes, yes, yes.
Order of operations.
Yeah.
No more wrath.
Oh, I forgot to mark it.
You've got to put it on your character sheet.
Yeah, you've got to put it on your sheet in the overlay.
Oh!
Uh, okay.
Got another six out of that.
Very nice.
Okay.
Very good.
Do we want to dump a glory?
Just go for broke here?
So the shift here is important.
The shift is kind of what you're looking for, because the shift is going to allow you to disperse some of this mob.
Right.
So you can basically use a shift here, and, like, with your intimidation, some of the people are going to back off.
So of the 20 individuals, by using that shift, five of them just head away.
All right, yeah, I'll use the shift.
Okay, you can use a glory.
Try to get another shift on the lucky six.
Do I want to go for it?
Honestly, I think since we're just fishing for six, I would keep the glory back.
Is there any way that maybe I could assist or do a check to aid this, hopefully get this mob to disperse en masse?
Yeah, so at this point, you can do it.
The difficulty now goes up, so this is going to be a difficulty...
What more time?
Difficulty seven.
Okay.
Um, let's see, uh, could I make...
Let's see, uh...
My deception...
Can I make an intimidation check?
Yes.
Excellent.
I've got six dice here.
More or less.
Um, let's go.
Let's just see how we do.
Enjoy.
Goku said in chat going, it's not a dumb situation.
We don't use glory for actual situations.
Correct.
Thanks, chat member.
Stand aside or be cut down.
You know the price of failure, you louts.
Don't roll.
Damn.
Good lord.
Okay.
Okay, so that...
That succeeds.
And, again, you would have needed a shift, but because you've got the critical there, I will actually allow you to count that.
So you're able to get a couple more individuals to run off.
Um, but there's still a group of about ten.
You've caused about half of them to sort of just disperse and go, nah, you know what?
Um, I won't know with this.
The rest, however, are like the true devotees.
And they're kind of clustering together.
Um, the situation here is as follows.
Kilrana, you've kind of hopped down.
You've gone towards, um, this group.
Whereas, Alden, you sat back a bit and made your proclamations.
Uh, Rus, you've been, like, you've readied your gun.
Um, at this point, it looks like the remaining ten aren't going to let you pass.
They're going to sort of go, go forth and smack you.
But, um, you see this all coming.
You know this is coming.
So, um, in a combat situation, I'm actually going to, if you go to the southwest, I put tokens down just as representatives of things.
Don't worry about spacing or all.
This is kind of just happening in a loose area.
Theater of mind.
Um, but with that, um, who would, uh, like to go first?
Kind of like as, as you start seeing this, this mob is getting their, their stuff ready.
You see one of them like, we won't let you.
And they raise their weapon.
But one of you gets to act first.
So if you don't mind, I have a, I have a question to help us determine.
Um, does the tractor have guns on it?
No.
All right.
Nevermind.
You guys read that out.
I've got a little bit of an AOE and the crowd hasn't spread out yet.
Uh, so I think I can, uh, start us off here.
By all means.
I'm down for it.
Go for it.
Yeah.
Perils of the warp.
All right.
Ersteen.
It turns the tractor into a, into a, what is it?
Uh, like a chaos Hulk or whatever.
Like the Terminator thing.
Like.
Oh yeah.
By the defiler.
Yeah.
One before bloodthirsters appear.
And, uh, yeah.
So Calrana is going to, uh, uh, languidly take a few steps back toward the rest of the group.
Uh, um, is going to hold out a hand, snap her fingers, and I'm going to cast flashbang on this group.
Okay.
Um, so everyone within range, which make a successful DN3 toughness test.
The range is five meters.
DN3 toughness test.
Okay.
But you have to cast it.
Indeed.
Yes, I do.
So I'm, uh, I have to click on, it's this one.
Yes.
Okay.
Oh.
Oh, oh, oh.
Damn.
That will do it.
You rolled, you rolled a success in one.
Okay.
You rolled so many fours and fives and one six.
Jesus Christ.
Okay.
Okay.
You got it.
You got it.
You got it.
You got it.
You got the successes.
Damn.
A flash bang, as it were.
Mm-hmm.
You can shift one for an additional shot damage.
Indeed.
Yes.
I will shift the one.
And I.
You remember you can click the dice there.
Uh, on the thing.
In Foundry, and then it'll do its thing.
Um, it's.
I remember you right-click it, I think.
Oh, wait.
Uh, uh.
I clicked the six there.
I right-clicked the.
Oh, yes.
Because it opens that.
Uh, and then you shift it into.
Uh, just regular shift.
Yeah.
Regular shift.
Uh, and then.
Then you can press the plus one.
It's not letting me press the plus one.
Uh, one sec.
Um.
One sec here.
Unless the six is needed to succeed.
Well, no.
One sec.
One sec.
I'm pulling a flash bang here.
Let me.
Let me look at flash bang.
This is where we learn the rules.
Rules.
Flash bang.
This is why I'm sure I forgot to think.
So, the difficulty is four.
Four.
Yeah.
So, the six shouldn't prevent me from succeeding.
Ah, but you, you know, you have one.
So.
And you've shifted it.
Why?
I shifted it.
Yeah, it's still graying out the button.
Uh, do I have to?
You shifted it.
I shifted it.
I shifted it.
I mean, we know, so it's okay.
It's just you would roll the.
We got it.
We'll figure it out.
Yeah, yeah.
Fair enough.
Move on.
All right.
Um.
Rolling damage?
Uh, well, there's no damage here.
It's just I make a toughness test, or I am shocked.
Yes, yes, yes.
So, um, this is affecting a mob.
Um, you are shifting for the additional shock.
Um, so, there's a couple things that will happen.
Your mobs work a bit differently than ring creatures.
Just definitely.
So, um, you shift, which brings the total to four, which actually means that you would,
um, you, you, you.
You just make it.
Yay.
Uh, I make a toughness, um, test, which I will do.
This is difficulty three.
Ugh.
Damn.
Okay, Jesus.
So, so, so, so, so they, they, they, they succeed.
Um, so because of that, the shifting doesn't even matter.
Like, they're, they are the children of the dawn.
They are unaffected by your paltry Xenos flashbang magic.
The good lord.
We stare at the sun every day.
Your, your mobile sun does nothing.
Uh, and so as, like, I assume, Karana, you sort of back up and you, you produce this dizzying display of, of pyrotechnics by channeling the immaterium.
Um, um, you kind of may be a bit too cocky in how you, you pull back and they descend on you.
Oh, shit.
Um, so, again, as I mentioned, um, mobs are a bit different.
Now, this is, this, this is a learning, uh, thing for us, everybody.
Um, the mob descends on you, uh, with scrap metal weapons.
There are ten of them.
Um, they get five bonus dice because they get, because there are ten of them.
So, with mobs, anytime they attack, they get a number of bonus dice on their attacks equal to half the size of the mob.
You will see why in a second.
Good lord.
That sounds pretty bad.
Is it possible for any of us to seize the initiative?
Uh, no, that would be, like, you can't just use it to break the chain.
Okay.
Um, that would be, like, you could do it in sort of a, a situation to go first so enemies don't smack you, but you can't just, like, player after player.
Okay.
Fair enough.
Yeah.
Okay.
So, Kilrona, as they come at you, this is what I mean, but it's not that great.
Um, they proceed to repeatedly bash you.
What is your defense?
Is it actually one?
I think we talked.
Uh, my, my defense is not very good.
Okay.
So, they can shift, uh, which is, uh, yeah.
Um, so they are going to shift one for damage.
Then they are going to roll damage on you.
So, they do nine points of damage as they beat you repeatedly, um, with scrap metal.
It's like this mob just hitting you with, like, holes and other such things.
Um, so you can roll determination here.
Yep.
I don't know why you have, why did you have shotgun?
Oh, I think from, uh.
Oh, is that from a test session?
Ah, probably.
Probably.
Yeah.
Yeah, just fix yourself.
Yeah, cool.
All right.
You may now give me determination.
Yes.
Okay, not bad.
Um, so that will be three.
Um, just remember to do the, the amount of wounds that you would take, so that, that-
Oh, yes.
My bad.
No, you're good.
Um, so that will give you three shock, which it will take.
So you are now shocked, but you take no wounds from this, as they're, as they're just, as this, like, mob is descending and smacking at you with their, with their various, you know, implements.
And they're like, stay out of the wounds, the wounds are sacred.
Ah, fuck.
All right, all right, disperse.
Who would like to go next?
I would like to, because I happen to have a weapon that is great against mobs.
Oh, that's such a soup.
No, it's called a hotshot volley gun, you fucking peasant.
Boom!
Boom!
I was going to just throw a pipe bomb at him.
I'm going to step to the side here.
Okay.
Yeah.
And remember, remember this, I, the, the tokens don't actually represent really where you are.
This is just like theater of the mindy stuff.
So you're like, you're-
Represent what's going on.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This is so you can target stuff.
You're like on the tractor with the other three boys, and Kelrana's kind of partway between the tractor and the mob, and the mob then descended on Kelrana, is now just beating Kelrana with sticks.
Goodness gracious.
You will pay for your indiscretions, traitors!
And I'm going to spool up my hotshot volley gun, and I'm going to go ahead, and I'm going to make a spray shot into the mob.
Okay.
And if I am successful, I will hit an additional number of individuals in the mob equal to my weapon's salvo value, which is four.
So I can potentially take out half of these guys.
I'm going to aim.
Uh, you can't, uh, because it's a full action.
Okay, never mind.
I'm lying to you.
Yes.
Right.
Now, let me just really quickly see.
Now, I see the part in the rulebook that mentions spray shot versus mobs.
Am I going to be, uh, taking a multi-attack penalty?
Um, so as a full make a range attack against the mob is normal.
Um, no, no.
You don't.
No?
Okay.
So what's my difficulty number?
What?
Okie dokie.
There's almost done.
No, I was sneezing.
Sorry.
Uh, one.
Um, that's why I was, like, desperate to press the button, but say one.
Um, yeah.
One.
Totally fine.
All right.
So let's go.
I will let loose a hail of last fire.
And I'm going to go get seven successes and three failures.
Nice.
Okay.
That's three sixes.
Nice.
Yeah.
So a couple of things here.
You generally, you won't want to shift here and I'll explain why.
Okay.
Um, because when you hit something, like a mob, um, you add your, add the defense of the
target and anything over the defense of the target is extra people you hit.
So in this case, you will hit six extra targets.
Six extra targets plus my four from salvo.
Plus the salvo of the weapon.
So I hit everybody.
Uh, what's the salvo on your weapon?
Four.
Four.
Okay.
Perfect.
Yeah.
So you hit 10 of them.
Just a big old hail of last fire.
I assume I roll damage.
Yup.
Okie dokie.
That is going to be 10 damage, AP minus two.
Oh, that kills them all.
You've gotten them all down.
They just.
Oh.
You also lose a point of ammo.
I will lose a point of ammo.
I don't have a tract on my sheet here.
Um, but I assume I have two things of ammo base plus the one that was in the gun.
Uh, one sec.
So ammo.
Um, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh, buh.
All right.
Um, you start play with all of your weapons fully loaded with three points of ammo.
Um, however, I have a note here.
You did spend one of your ammo previously firing wildly into the air.
Okay.
Uh, during your grand speech.
That was a, that was a thing you had, uh, you had done.
So after reloading, I will have one ammo.
One ammo left.
Yes.
Okay.
Don't spin it all in one place, sir.
Excellent.
Of course.
But in moments like these, we couldn't have these ruffians climbing all over our elder.
Uh, yeah, no one, no one hits off freak, but us.
That's right.
Now hit the freak.
Hey, boxy on the head.
Oh, that's it, Rose.
Hit the freak button.
I appreciate that, Rose is like, like the least cool kid in the cool kid club at high school.
Like he's just accepted enough as an ab human.
But the, but those Xenos, they're the worst.
Oh yeah.
Oh yeah.
I think they're a bunch of freaks, sir.
Well, I think that you're right.
Oh, I'm only a little bit of a freak.
A little?
Ow.
I hate it.
If I hadn't augmented my GI tract, I'd throw up right now at the thought of those horrible, inhuman freaks.
Uh, I couldn't agree more, but I'm afraid that our more freakish freaks are freaking out in these freaky ruins.
Let us quickly go and unfreak them.
Yeah, yeah.
You got that, sir.
But I have to wonder.
He looks at his arm.
Would we have potentially settled this in a peaceful manner?
Do we, ask later, when the time is right.
He doesn't have to hate him like a mother.
You don't have to bother him for everything.
I like to talk to him sometimes, because he's the only boy who really understands me.
Oh, I'm sure he does.
That's not true, Roos.
I understand you.
When's my birthday?
Well, you're a simpleton.
You don't have a birthday.
Hey, guys.
Oh, Captain, you hurt his feelings.
What are you doing?
I mean, your birthday is tomorrow, and when we get back, we're making you a big cake.
Yes.
Hey, Red Bedford.
Oh, you ruined the surprise now.
Now he's not going to be surprised at the cake we made for him.
Oh, I'll cover my eyes.
Don't worry.
I'll be surprised.
Somehow, I have the notion that the Emperor will forgive me.
Maybe.
You've got to really repent for this one.
Don't give him more and he'll stay behind me.
I've got to protect you guys, you know?
Don't knock and do for people who remember my birthday.
I mean, Bruce will lead the way with a spring in his step.
Bruce leads the way to try to protect his friends.
The ground shakes a little bit with a spring in his step that he has.
Absolutely.
You are about as subtle as an earthquake.
Grumbling.
Kel'rana is going to dip her fingers in some of the blood of the mob and start painting more expletives in Eldari on the side of the tractor.
All right.
Now you're going a bit too far with that.
I didn't want my tractor to suffer any more indignities, I say as I begin driving up the stairs.
Like, I love how you're just so attached to Ethel the tractor now.
Ethel the tractor is the most important member of our party.
Captain, that tractor doesn't have the torque to go up the stairs.
It'll manage.
It'll do.
Hold on, I can augment the drivetrain.
Hold on.
Aloysius will, like, sling himself over the side, getting under the guts of the tractor.
Difficulty 6 tech check.
Let's go.
I'm goaded.
I'm a beautiful, beautiful second.
I can do this.
So, you know, I don't know if Chesman will be able to hear the sound effect very well.
You know, I'm an impossible fixer.
But I've had for the tractor this, like, little car sound going.
Oh, my God.
Yes.
Not the car sound.
Oh, God.
Making sure I don't have any other things that can juice my rolls with this.
I'm so confident, by the way.
I believe in you.
Of course.
Of course.
Of course.
Here we go.
I'm going to wrath that.
Just do a bear.
Wrath it because it's funny.
Use the wrath.
Not because it is easy, but because it is hard.
Okay.
Almost.
You were so close.
You were so close to the worry.
You announced what re-rolled because they won't see the roll or know what you're doing, Nadia.
So I rolled four successes before.
On the re-roll out of nine dice, I got an additional success.
So we're one shot.
Can I assist with my athletics?
Five, helping lift the tractor so he could have an easier reach inside.
Or my strength, rather.
Maybe.
I mean, athletics is appropriate here.
Yeah, the base would be the strength of you.
I think I'll allow you a check here.
We'll see.
We'll see how it plays out.
All right.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's get athletics.
Here we go.
The rolling noises I've got you.
He kind of pushes up.
It's not a complication.
I'm complicated.
Let's go.
I've got six successes.
Here you go, sir.
I'll hold this up for you.
I'm going to roll the complication.
Thank you.
Thank you, Ruse.
Thank you very much.
Roll it.
Roll it.
The complication is harsh environment.
The environment changes.
Masonry collapses, revealing another path or potential foe.
The terrain becomes difficult, flooded, or visibly lower.
Okay.
So what happens here is you've reached the foot of the mountains here, where the path begins to lead up.
The ruins are sort of around you, the weathered white stone of the Eldari and their cursed culture.
However, Aloysius decides that now is the time to perform necessary 10 upgrades.
And he begins this process, but needs to get under.
He needs to get under.
So, Ruse, you step up.
You manage to accomplish this.
Lift it.
You actually lift up Ethel with your immense bulk and strength, holding it as Aloysius goes in and finishes the upgrades.
And then when you are done, Aloysius comes out, and you are able to let go.
And as you do, the weight of the tractor causes the ground underneath all of you to collapse, tumbling all of you and Ethel the tractor down into a subterranean hollow.
You find yourself in, and you know that this is kind of the area where Xanther ended up, is the dark hollows beneath the mountain.
And you fall, not like backbreaking or damaging in this case, but you fall into maybe 10 feet or so, somewhat, you know, somewhat shielded by the tractor itself that all of you were riding on or whatnot at the time, because I just assumed Bruce did it while you were still on there.
You fall into this dark cavernous area, which you can tell is the site of where the accursed Drukhari would be.
But you are now essentially 10 feet underground or so.
Did it work?
Well, I performed the necessary maintenance on Ethel, so it should work now.
Uh, no.
Why?
Why?
Oh, goodness.
Why?
We're experiencing a new, more interesting problem.
And what is that?
We're in a tunnel.
Delightfully observant.
Thank you.
I have, uh, incredible elven eyes.
Ah, but we are right where we need to be.
This is not as bad as things may seem.
The enemy will not anticipate an attack coming from with inside their hollows.
That may be true, or they could have heard of the violence outside and have already prepared a trap.
Uh, Kel'rona, were you to lay a trap in their situation, where would you place it?
Hmm, Kel'rona, I'm gonna scratch your chin.
I'm gonna think about my zero score in Scholar.
Uh.
So this would be survival.
Oh, survival.
I'm actually much better at that.
The difficulty on this is difficulty ten.
How hard could it possibly be?
Well, I wasn't born in Kamara, so I guess that makes sense.
Yeah, just roll a bunch of sixes.
Well, um, uh, you're hoping.
Just do it.
It's easy.
Yeah, it's easy.
It's easy.
You left out your hand, and then they just landed at six.
I mean, come on.
Just, just think of them.
Yeah, just think of them.
I'm, I'm thinking of them, brother.
I've never stopped thinking of them.
You only rolled one.
Would you like to use your second wrath dice on this?
I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't think that, uh, I don't think that we're getting there.
Did Kel'rona spend a wrath before?
Uh, I did.
I spent one.
Okay.
Yes.
Sorry, I missed that.
Let me cut you down.
You all failed.
Um, I think, yeah, Aloysius and Kel'rona have spent.
My bad.
Um, all right.
Cool.
Do me a favor, Odo.
Yeah.
Roll me 2d6.
Why?
Just do it.
What's gonna happen to me?
Just funny.
Oh.
Okay.
Two sixes?
Two sixes?
That's gotta be good, right?
Yeah.
That's a good way.
Usually, you know, why do you roll it for the bad things, not the good things?
I don't know.
You were rolling good for a moment.
We thought the curse was broken and that?
What's wrong, dude?
You jinxed it.
You all said, oh, the curse is broken.
And the curse said, oh, I was just sleeping.
All right.
Um, you lead the way.
Um, confident in your skills.
Um, the tractor has some difficulty.
Oh, dear.
Um, it...
It seems like you might have to abandon it in these tight caverns.
Well, I hesitate to do such a thing, but if it must be done, let us sally forth on foot.
You carry on, Kelrana, through the dark.
By the way, who has, um, some sort of light?
Not me.
If we lack a light source, I can activate my power sword and use that.
Okay.
Yeah, for sure.
So, holding the power sword.
Okay.
Carry on.
Um, eventually, Kelrana, you manage to lead the group to a wide cavern, uh, with several collapses that terminate in an elegant, complex shrine of the substance you know to be Wraithbone.
This sort of, uh, this sort of almost creamy white colored, um, semi-organic compound that rises out.
And it, it is, the shrine is in the shape of an eye.
Um, it, it seems like this is some sort of abandoned shrine.
Uh, you can give me a, uh, you, Kelrana, can give me a difficulty, um, for you.
This would be two.
Scholar check.
Scholar check.
All right.
Well, good thing I'm dumb as fuck.
It's fair.
I believe in you.
I believe in you.
Oh, okay.
Okay, there you go.
I got it.
With a four successes on three dice.
Not bad, not bad.
Not bad at all.
We take those?
Um, this is a, this is a shrine to the Eldari harvest deity Aisha.
Oh.
Um.
Yeah.
Ah.
It's, uh, old shrine to Aisha.
Cool.
Uh, goddess.
Goddess of the harvest.
What's those?
Does that make sense?
Uh, you know what?
I'm not gonna bother explaining it to you.
It's a nice lady who helps the plants grow, and she's really strong, and really cool, and
she's not around anymore.
Oh, she sucks lovely.
She's quite revered in Elkhari culture.
She is.
Often forgotten in modern times.
Aye.
Especially by our darker cousins.
Strange they'd be hiding out here.
So, I'm to take it that the Drukhari have not come here to weep tears for their fallen lady of the harvest.
Oh, no.
No, no.
All the weeping they do is, uh, uh, pulled from others.
Hmm.
Well, how'd you, how'd you get the tears out?
Did you get, I mean, he's trying to figure out the logistics of pulling tears out.
Hmm.
All right.
Um, I'm gonna look around.
Uh, I don't think, uh, tell me if I can do this, Thurston, because I, what are you rolling?
Nothing.
Um.
Um, because, yeah, for Scryer's gaze, it says, I must be aware of a location to view it and must have a general idea of where it is.
Um, if you are not exactly aware of these, uh, conditions, you must spend ten minutes to hone in on the location.
Uh, would I be able, you know, seeing the branching paths here, seeing where these tunnels lead, would I be able to cast my senses out and try to locate where my Drukhari cousins may be?
You, you could, absolutely.
You could, you could do a, you could do a, um, you could do, like, a ten minute sort of owning in.
You'd have to stay here for ten minutes.
Hmm.
We got ten minutes?
We should hope, hopefully we do.
Right.
Well, you guys, uh, keep your eyes on my back and I'll see if I can see ahead.
Bruce stares at Kelrana.
Hi.
Making sure nothing's on your back.
Okay, uh, that was a figure of speech.
Make sure nobody comes to hurt me.
Alright?
Yeah, but what if they're behind their back, though?
Well, if they're behind their back and they're trying to hurt me, then that covers all our bases.
Oh, okay.
Bruce stands guard.
Yep.
I'm going on Overwatch.
Okay.
Kelrana, do you want to give me, um, a scratch gaze?
Difficulty number here is six.
Indeed.
To channel the immaterium.
I am channeling the immaterium.
Go!
Ooh.
Just two off.
I'm going to use a wrath.
That makes sense.
Yeah.
That is your last wrath.
March, beta.
That is eight successes.
Uh, and then the shift for this, uh, increases the range.
But I think I'm going to keep that six for potency.
Um.
The potency is shifting it up.
Oh, it is shifting it up for range.
Oh, that's all I can do.
So, so that will increase it by a factor of ten.
So, like, 50,000 meters.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Oh, good lord.
Um, yeah, okay.
Uh, one sec.
I'm just doing stuff for reasons.
For reasons?
Reasons, yeah.
I'm going to slap my nuts.
Lois says, how could you see, could you see in the dark with your, with your face plate thing?
What are you talking about, Ruse?
Yes, of course I can.
Looking at my character sheet.
No, I didn't take, I didn't take those automatics.
Oh, no.
Did.
Did that mean you, you haven't been able to see it all?
However, even if I don't have those automatics, I do have something baked into me that might be able to see things.
Oh, he's cooking?
So, Aloysus' face plate will whir to life.
A great hololivic eye will manifest on its surface as, like, I've turned it hard to explain this.
Like, lines of light, like, shoot out, like, scanning the room around.
Uh, I have an Auspex, so I'm going to attempt to see energy emissions, motion, or other life signs within 50 meters.
Sure.
Boop.
Just start scanning.
Boop.
Um, okay.
Uh, well, before that, uh, yeah, okay.
So you use it, combat action detect, missions, life signs.
You see the life signs of your allies.
Boop.
Kelrana, as you are channeling these immaterial powers, um, you, you see something.
Um, it's far away, but close.
It's hard to gauge the exact distance.
It's somewhere in these, these strangely shifting tunnels, in that it's far away in terms of the, the kind of weaving, but it's relatively close.
Like, it's enough you're able to pinpoint it.
Um, as you are, as you are scanning and attempting to uncover what is here, um, you find that there is a, a, larger sections of, of Wraithbone and dilapidated, curving, broken structures of ancient grandeur that have since long been forgotten.
Ah, there's something you see, broken statues of Eldari warriors flanking broken doors, at which are two figures, one lithe and swift with blades, and the other standing sentinel, similarly lithe, but wielding some kind of wickedly barbed rifle.
Um, you're, you're, you're, you're honing in, you can see that there is this, this, this temple entrance somewhere here.
However, as you do so, your concentration is snapped away as you hear the sounds of claws scraping on rocks and a guttural growl echoing from the hollows around you.
It's a long way off, that's why, um, Aloysius is, um, Auspex isn't picking it up.
But you can tell, or you can't tell which direction it's coming from, but the source is definitely something large that is moving in these hollows.
I feel like your, your ability to survival again will be improved now.
Nice.
All right, I think I got a beat on the direction where we're supposed to go.
Gonna be looking for statues in front of a door, guarded by two people, and there's some sort of beast prowling the tunnels.
If I had to guess, it's probably one of their chimera.
The chimera?
If I had to guess.
They're, uh, fucked up animals that they tend to use in the arenas.
Hmm, I see.
Well then, let us prepare ourselves and move forth.
Keep an eye out for statues and any potential ambush points.
I know these Jokari tend to use low cunning, so also keep your eye ready for traps.
Got it, balls.
Okay.
Kelron's gonna stand up.
You can give me another survival check, Kelrona.
Yes, I shall.
The difficulty is now nine.
Ugh.
Well, that's at least a little better.
Mm-hmm.
Let's give it a shot.
Yeah, your chance of survival's gonna be better.
Oh, boy.
In fact, you still...
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
Oh, boy.
We're down by one.
By one?
Wow!
Hey, hey, hey, Oda Roshi Rider.
That's me.
Could you roll me 2d6?
Stop making me do that.
A one and a four.
Okay.
So, uh, uh, if we're rolling against the, uh, Archon's shield, you know, uh, the one, the one gets through.
Okay.
Cool.
If he's rolling his saves.
No.
I know.
I know.
That shadow field is really...
That shadow field, you know, I, I got it.
Classic.
He's gotta roll a one eventually.
You'd think so.
You know, one of my greatest Warhammer experiences of my life was in third edition Warhammer.
Might have been fourth.
When I fought a Dark Eldar player who had the typical, like, here's my Archon with his two-up invulnerable save, get fucked.
Yeah.
And I was playing Grey Knights at the time.
Oh, no.
And Grey Knights back in this point, all of their weapons had a special rule.
That was just, they all ignore invulnerable saves.
Oh, now it's his force.
Yay!
This was all in their guns.
So it was, like, the Psycannons and the Flamers.
And so I just remember being like, I will fire my Psycannons into your, right?
To your Archon.
And he's, okay, cool.
I'm like, your Archon is dead.
And it was like, what?
What?
And I'm like, well, you see, my gun is strength six, which doubles your toughness, and you get no save.
And this was during...
And now you're dead.
...is during fifth edition?
This is, like, third or fourth.
I want to...
It's probably fourth-ish area, yeah.
That's very, very rude to do to a Dark Eldar player having to use the second edition codex.
No, no, no, third edition, because Dark Eldar were third edition.
Oh, right.
They were the starter box of third edition.
This is my Warhammer lore coming out.
All right.
So, Kelrana, as you maneuver your way and begin leading your allies, you begin to hear something.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Zzzz.
Hold on.
It's getting some kind of electrical sound, like, and some kind of, like, almost like a motor?
Eliza, is that you?
Yeah, my god, he's dead.
I guess that is him.
Fuck.
If you're muted.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm done.
Huh?
I'm done.
Okay.
Are you okay?
Sorry, I dissociated thinking about toasters again.
Oh, so true.
So true.
Yeah.
Aloysus, does that sparking sound you?
No.
No.
I'm normal.
I'm fine.
Hulky Crow, are you okay?
Oh, yeah.
I'm fine.
I'm just peachy thirsty, and I guess.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I'm just boiling shrimp while he's playing this.
They don't know that.
They don't know that.
Hold on.
Give him a second.
The electric kettle can do many things.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
So, no.
It's coming up from the passage you are leading your comrades through.
Is my auspex picking up anything?
Um, no.
Just your allies.
Like, it's not picking up any other life signs.
And it's pretty damn dark in here, right?
Oh, yeah.
Like, you are going by the light of your power sword.
All right, everyone.
Hold a moment.
Keep an eye out.
I'm going to hopefully light up our way for a moment.
See what you can catch a glimpse of.
I would like to make a narrative declaration.
Okay.
As Bruce is going in and stuff, I would like to, uh, like, which is a, uh, he trips over
a couple of corpses, maybe a couple of guardsmen.
Okay.
Uh, and basically he, as he looks down, he finds one of them has like, you know, like that
backpack some of them have.
They have like that, like weird fucking flashlight thing.
Oh, yeah.
Uh, Bruce would go, hey, I'll think I'm about to found something to really help us out here.
He takes it and just, like, turns on the light of it.
But I'll, I'll acquiesce that it's not, like, the best light.
Like, it flickers every so often.
So, it's not the best light in the world, but it's still better than a power sword.
Hey, chat, chat, translation.
Zorin's like, this is fucking going to bite us in the ass and we need a real light.
I'm narratively declaring a real fucking light and it's the smartest move.
Oh, God, I love it.
All right.
So, so, so Roos has a light and he'll come up to Alden and go, don't worry, sir.
I said I was going to protect us.
Let me lock the way.
Goodness, what a great find.
Absolutely, Roos.
Oh, thank you, sir.
Mark yourself down to Rath Point.
Yes, I brought it down and Roos will kind of help lead the way forward.
And, of course, taking any directions for people in the back.
Absolutely.
All right.
So, at this point, the sound is getting louder.
At this point, there's, like, the smallest ping on the aspects now of motion.
And you're getting closer.
Hold, hold.
There appears to be something in this hallway.
The thing is up ahead.
It's not us, but it's alive.
I can't speak for what it is because it's just an aspect.
It doesn't have that kind of danger readout, unfortunately.
So, keep your wits about you.
Right.
We got life signs.
I'm going to, very quickly, cast another magic spell, if you'll allow me, Thurston.
A psychic power.
Yes, a psychic power.
Psychic power.
We got you, magic here.
Look, this is the game where it's, like, I want to cast a spell.
And I'm, like, every time a fucking psyker wants to do something, I'm, like, yes, please.
I know.
You're waiting for it.
You're so good.
You're waiting for it.
It's like wild magic is built into your blood.
I love it.
At some point, at some point, I want the gang for us to give Imperium Meledictum or even
go back to some of those older Dark Heresy games just so you can experience that pure bliss
rule set of psychic powers.
Maybe one day.
Begrath the Glory is super famous.
We'll figure it out.
Exactly.
What was that?
The show we're doing.
We played, um, what was it?
Dark Heresy speaker back in the day?
Uh, which one?
Uh, what was the Warhammer game that we played back in the day?
The, uh, was it Dark Heresy?
Um, I don't think I remember.
A Rogue Traitor, maybe.
No, you ran it, because that was, uh, uh, the one you ran for Ondine.
Oh, that was, uh, Black Crusade.
The one where you dropped the fucking Tyranid on my head.
Yes, Black Crusade.
Yeah, yeah.
Same rule system.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
Awesome.
All right, Calorana, what are we casting?
What are we casting?
I am going to cast a cheeky little Conceal, um, because we are having life signs further
up, and so I want us to be as stealthy as possible.
Okay, okay.
So, the Asuriani rules battle discipline Conceal with a difficulty of five to cast.
Indeed.
Conceal slash reveal.
I'm not assisting guys that can't, but I'm going to steal what a chat member said by
saying, uh, the guy, like, the backpack light, the corpse is still on him.
Oh, no.
So, as we're floating, as we're going, the guy looks like he's just floating with the
backpack on.
Oh, no.
I'm still on that.
Good.
Good.
Your name's Terry.
Okie dokie.
I'm going to roll it.
Oh, my God, that's so close.
Uh, do you mind if I, yeah, you mind if I burn the glory for it?
Go for it.
Get it.
Because it's.
Zara's like, sure, do mind.
Um, and then we just rolled 2d6.
Just rolled 2d6.
Mm-hmm.
Nice.
Pilot of four.
Yippee.
Hey.
There we go.
That will make it go off.
Will, it's not enough for, uh, for a shift, but it is enough for you to get it to, um,
to, yeah, to continue onwards.
Hooray, hurrah.
Put closer to your mic, Thurston, when you talk like that.
Hooray, hurrah.
Yes, you can make it work that way.
Um, all right.
So, um, you are concealing yourself.
So, you draw in the shadows.
So, this is going to, um, and you're going to sustain it for you and your allies?
Okay.
Indeed.
All right.
Perfect.
All right.
So, you sustain as you advance.
And pick some zzzz, zzzz, zzzz, zzzz, zzzz, zzzz.
And you see a collapsed section of wraithbone along the cavern walls here.
Um, it looks as though the wraithbone has been, like, grown over by rock, um, but some collapse
caused it to fall down, creating a bit of, like, a ruined section in the tunnel here.
Uh, and in that is small-moving mecha dendrites, as a servo skull is partially collapsed under
a chunk of wraithbone that's fallen, and it's trying to get out but can't.
Zzzz, zzzz, zzzz, and the sound you've been hearing is its, like, little grav motor trying
to get itself out.
Do we want to let that thing see us?
Hmm.
Possibly, but I might be able to glean some information to see if it would be a good idea
to let it out in the first place.
Please do.
Matter the size of the servant of the Omnissiah.
Uh, be remiss to not help one of my kin or their constructs.
And Loisus will carefully step towards the servo skull, keeping his augmatic eyes appealed
for any traps or booby traps of that nature.
All right.
And you, you approach it.
You can see it there again.
It's still, still struggling, um, to get out.
Uh, based off of the age of it, it looks to be older.
Like, it's possibly been here for maybe a year.
Hmm.
Hmm.
Uh, I'm going to attempt to interface with the servo skull.
See if I can get its, whatever data has been cached on it.
Yeah, give me a difficulty three tech check.
Sure thing.
Here it comes.
That is seven successes and two shifts.
Nice.
Yeah, you can shift one for glory, for sure.
Um, I'll let, or you can, every shift, I will let you get one extra piece of data off of
this.
Ah, I see.
I think we should bank a little bit of glory or would you rather get some more info about
this, guys?
I'm, I'm okay spending one, but I feel like we should have at least another in the pool.
Yeah, I think definitely put one to glory.
Glory it is.
All right.
Okay.
So I will shift one and then bank another.
Yeah, so, so it's enough for you to interface with it and you can see that this, this little
guy was dispatched from the manufacturing, uh, manufacturerums on the planet, was sent
here to do reconnaissance, having made it through some of the, uh, some of the guardians that
had been around here in times past.
Uh, you, you, you definitely find little vidcaps of, uh, like a swarm of maybe a dozen skulls.
And like, every time you cut forward, there's less and less skulls in the troop.
Like one of them, you see being shot down.
One of them, you see kind of unable to, to get in through an opening before it, it was
crushed.
Eventually this one is the, the one that's left and it comes across with, with, with your
sort of, um, shift.
It's, it's, it's enough to tell it came across a vast shadow, which kind of swatted and though
it wasn't struck, the reverberations in the air sent it hurtling towards this wraith bone
deposit that cracked upon impact and then essentially trapped it where it is.
Um, as you discover this, almost as if on some terrible, terrible cue, you hear the thumping
of a huge beast galloping, reverberating throughout the hollows.
It seems to emanate from one tunnel ahead, then, then behind you, then an offshoot further
ahead before it stops completely.
After a moment of tense silence, you hear echoes of deep, frantic inhalations that are echoing
through the halls.
Instinctively, you look down at your auspex and see that it is still not chiming.
Whatever this is, it's still far off.
Psting.
Aloysius will spin the servo skull around in his hands, look at it briefly, studiously, before
releasing the servo skull to proceed on its mission.
It, it gets up, and you can tell that, like, all of its energy is expended, so it does
this little, this little kind of gallop forward of floating, haphazardly, wobbling, wobbling,
and then it tumbles down and just collapses inactive.
Ah.
Always a shame to see one of its angels disappear like that.
And Aloysius will scoop up the now dysfunctional servo skull and make his way back to the party.
Yeah.
Well, what was the nature of the thing?
It appears they dispatched a swarm of these sometime about a year prior, but one by one,
whether by misfortune or by hail of gunfire, some sort of force, took out each of them until
this, this brave soldier of its light was all that remained.
Curiously, something swatted it out of the air, but not as if it contacted it, whether it
was some kind of cloaking field about it, or some force moving between or just under the
skein of reality, it managed to hit it with such force that it cracked that wraithbone arc
that fell upon it and trapped it there ever since.
Whatever great lumbering beast is down here in these tunnels, we can be certain that it
is still active and likely still hunting.
Well, if it bleeds, we can kill it.
Let's find this beast before it finds us.
I, I, take away a, a wrath point, you.
What?
You didn't like it?
You didn't like it?
I think I'll keep my wrath, thank you very much.
All right.
Kelrana, do you want to continue leading your group through these, these darkened hollows?
Um, I'm not the one with the flashlight, but I am the one's stealth in us.
Does anybody have a higher survival rating than me?
Uh, I've got a okay survival rating.
I've got five.
I've got four.
I've got six.
I've got four.
Five is yours, yeah.
Yeah, I've got six.
All right, I'll.
Okay, except I'm gonna, now, now, now the, now the rules.
The rules, rules, rules, rules come at you, I know.
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Go roll.
Um, okay, so, Kelrana, um, you can now do a difficulty eight survival check.
Okay.
Um, as it goes down another point in difficulty.
However.
Oh, I'm sustaining power.
If you sustain the conceal, the difficulty of all your tests increases by two.
Yeah.
Um, so it would go back up to ten.
So you have to make a choice whether you want the easier test or if you want to maintain
the conceal.
Which could just assist Alden.
That's also a possibility.
I could do my best to assist Alden, because I think it is very important that we stay
stealthy.
Okay.
Yeah, that's fine with me.
All right.
So, I am willing to roll survival and try to hopefully lead us down a circuitous route.
Um, should I roll first, or should I allow the people assisting me to roll first?
Um, all right, so, um, who, who, you would be the primary, so you can roll it.
The question is, is who is assisting you?
We said it related to Kelrana, it says.
Yeah, I'll assist at a higher difficulty.
So, Kelrana, you can choose either your attribute or your skill there.
So, your, your choice of which, I think for you, for survival, it's going to be willpower,
yeah.
Um, so you can give five bonus dice to Alden.
Yeah, I will do that.
Okay.
I believe it's me.
Lovely, lovely.
I believe that is how this works, so.
All right.
Mm-hmm.
All right.
I should roll with five bonus dice at difficulty eight.
Yes.
Now watch this drive.
Holden, which way should we go, sir?
Beside the light left and right down several corridors.
Hold a moment.
Allow me to think.
I'll take a look at the ground, look for tracks.
I'm going to spend a point of wrath.
Okay.
And I would like to re-roll this test.
Absolutely.
Good idea.
You're very close.
And that's going to be 11 with one shift possible.
Very nice.
Woo-hoo.
Okay.
Um, you could either use this to reach your destination faster or to shift it for a point
of glory.
I'd like to reach our destination faster.
Okay.
Cool.
All right.
So you begin to, um, push forward, eventually kind of leading the way with Kelrana's assistance.
As you do, you find that you are going through the hollows, avoiding some of the ancillary
corridors, making your way, um, closer and closer towards what you assume is the heart
of this location.
You find yourself at a scene out of Kelrana's vision, a statue of two Eldari warriors that are broken, uh, flanking this, this door.
However, there are two individuals, uh, or three, I should say, or two individuals standing in front of the door.
Um, I will let Kelrana make a stealth test for the group here.
Um, okay.
As you have kind of set up the, um, you've set up the conceal.
So, so do that for me.
Oh.
There's no, I'm not telling you the difficulty on this, so just roll it.
Oh, all right.
Um, I'm gonna do my darndest.
So I am going to get one bonus die from conceal.
Um, or it's for myself and my allies.
Yeah.
Yeah.
If anybody's got a stealth higher than five.
Uh, this, this one you have to do on your own.
Oh, I have to do this one.
Okay.
All right.
Uh.
Hey.
He's indicating he's a contested role because you're going to get someone else's awareness.
Oh, true.
Uh, so that's two, three, four, five successes.
Not bad.
Okay.
You can also make one, roll one bonus dice.
Oh.
Oh, I already put the bonus die in there.
Oh, for your conceal?
Okay.
Yeah.
All right.
Excellent.
Um, not bad.
Okay.
So.
Just one moment here.
I've got to, I'm just looking at something.
I don't really log in when it's stopped like this.
Get out of here to flash it all back home.
Now, Roos.
Just a second.
Don't come on.
It won't be equally.
You stay, you stay.
The voice is talking.
Do you need to hold my hand, buddy?
He holds your hand.
All right.
There we go.
Ow.
Ow.
Ow.
Um.
Crashes your arm.
You hear voices from the two figures as you kind of pull everyone off to the side.
And you hear in this, all of you hear this, this monstrous, demonic tongue.
Um.
Calrana, you hear the harsh dialect of the Eldari lexicon.
Um.
Hmm.
When will Monfirt let us storm the portal chamber and force the tantalizing screams of death from the-
That, that, that stalker.
Be quiet.
We all long to see that wretched creature's blood.
But she's slain four of us.
She's doomed.
As long as we guard her on the exit.
Hmm.
I'm going to, uh, uh, I'm going to lean down and whisper that to Alden, the, the translation.
I imagine I don't need to do it for Aloysus.
Mm-mm.
Hmm.
Bruce feels excluded.
So there's some sort of beast they haven't been able to take.
Is that so?
That might be what Aloysus is feeling.
Interesting.
Interesting.
Not highly disturbing.
All right.
Perhaps we could set an ambush.
Maybe.
Or have we got a surprise?
Aloysus will lean over to Roos.
There's something very, very big here.
Even the Drukhari are afraid of it, Roos.
Ah.
It has been hunting them.
They're trying to get access to something.
But you're also plenty big, too.
And nothing would scare one of the Emperor's finest, largest servants.
Roll a fellowship.
Okay.
Fill it.
Here's a one.
Do it.
Do it.
Do it.
You gotta beat it, too.
You gotta beat it, too.
You gotta beat it, too.
Gotta beat it, too.
Can you do it?
Okay.
I believe.
Yeah, I believe.
I don't believe.
Well.
Whatever.
Maybe.
Oh.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
Yeah.
That sucks, dude.
Oh, my God.
This is me and you doing a goof.
I was gonna say earlier, let's get all our good rolls out now, because we're not gonna get
to use them later.
I'm not gonna cheat the system by doing that.
Ah.
Let's continue to fellowship each other and get criticals until such a point as we have
maxed out our pool.
Oh, yeah.
Okay.
I'm trying to cure my dice.
Please don't make me roll legitimate dice.
Roosh looks at her license again.
Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm gonna fuck it up.
Yeah.
You, my large lumbering friend, are the light of the Omnissiah made flesh.
You will lay low is that foul creature stalking these tunnels, and you will do him on terror
justice by breaking those Rukari that remain, and bringing them back to the ship, Tattoo.
Yeah, yeah.
It is what he would want.
He looks to everyone and goes, watch the plan.
Well, the thing stalking the halls is on nobody's side.
These fuckers in front of us are certainly not gonna listen to reason.
We could try it.
Doubt it'll happen.
Um, taking a look at the door, is there any way for us to potentially open it?
Um, or otherwise, like, you know...
It's broken open.
Like, they're just kind of standing in front of the door, these two.
Yeah.
And they said this is that thing's only exit.
So they must be laying a trap for it or something.
Do we have anything loud that we can throw?
I've got a flashbang, but I'll probably have to drop conceal.
I've got a grenade.
That'll do it.
Well, that could kill them, then draw the creature.
We ideally want a situation where perhaps we can get the creature's attention.
I've got a grenade.
I could have been...
The only thing I'd be able to do is shoot a bolt of electricity with something.
But that'll just draw them to our position.
Yes, you make a good point.
We are a bit apt for ranged resources that we can just...
Toss out and forget.
I've got a shuriken pistol.
You know, I think it's best that we simply ambush these two.
If the creature comes, they'll be closer.
Oh, I'll have a good day.
Excellent.
Make use of it.
Okay.
He stands up.
Okay.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
One sec.
Here, for narrative purposes, let's move you all into the mountain now.
In the mountain.
In the mountains.
Where do we come from over the mountain?
Put down these two individuals.
Just in case anybody's ever watched their shows or confused, we're using the official stuff
for Wrath and Glory, for Blenies of the Lost.
They do not do what we do by giving you a crap ton of battle maps so you see what's going
on.
Well, this is theater of the mind, so they don't give us a lot of art.
Put it in your brain.
Yeah.
Sorry.
I'm sorry.
Yeah.
All right.
So you see the two of them.
So I assume at this point you're looking to cast Grenade, Roos, and begin us in a combat
situation.
He looks at Alden going, Tommy, we're ready, sir.
Reggie, fire.
Well, actually, a smart thing to potentially do before we start a combat, you guys, do
you want me to throw it, sir?
Do you want to throw it?
I don't know how good my aim is.
If you're not confident, hand it to me.
He hands you the grenade.
All right.
Add, you can add Frag Bomb to your inventory, do left, control, space, Frag Bomb, and just
drag it into your stuff.
Okay.
He'll hand you one.
Just to make it easier on you.
Left.
Control.
Space.
Oh, God.
Yeah.
It will search soon.
We'll come up, type Frag, Space, Bomb.
That'll auto-search it for you.
Let's, let's rock.
Trying to grab it real quick.
Forgive me.
Actually, I can help you out real quick.
I can probably do it for you.
Yeah.
The Frag Bomb.
There it is.
And then I go, boop, there it is.
Oh, my goodness.
Lovely, lovely, lovely.
Now, in combat, you should be able to, there you go, fixed it for you.
You should be able to click that, and off you go.
It just gives me a description, but I will go to combat.
Yep.
Okay, cool.
So, what is my difficulty number, Thurston?
Okay.
So, you are throwing a grenade.
Is that correct?
That is correct.
Okay.
So, let's, let's, let's do something.
Area of effect.
So, you pick any thing and make a difficulty three ballistic skill check.
Um, applying range effects as normal.
So, um, let's, let's see what the range is on a grenade.
This is a, what grenade is it?
Uh, this is a Frag Bomb.
It's range eight, blast eight.
Okay.
Okay.
So, eight, eight meters.
Um.
Yeah, you, you could come out basically within ten meters, uh, of them.
So, it's going to be a difficulty four here.
You got it.
Okay.
I'm going to crouch over, uh, by cover.
I'm going to, can I aim?
Uh, so, let me see here.
Sorry, Chad has a lot of edge cases for the system.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're trying to do test sessions, but it's like, it's a lot.
Yeah.
And also, it's one of those things of like, some, some special actions have some like,
locked in things and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Uh, uh, oh, you can't move if you aim.
That's the problem.
Okay.
So, you couldn't, you couldn't aim because you'd have to move out to do the thing, right?
Yeah.
So, we all put up a place of cover and then, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You're all basically backs to wall and then you're going to have to come out and toss.
Yeah.
I'm going to get here and then I'm just going to go ahead, aim.
Yeah.
Pull the pin.
By the emperor.
Time to wrath the test.
Probably not a bad idea.
Okay.
We just made it.
Just made it.
Okay.
Um, so it lands.
Uh, so, so area weapons.
So, catches blast rating.
Um, so it's going to hit both of them.
Um, there's no scatter because you hit.
Um, so at this point, what was the damage on that?
Uh, let's roll damage.
Fourteen.
Yeah, sure.
Die, Zenos!
Fifth!
You go out, you toss the grenade.
Um, and this is a frag bomb, you said, or a grenade?
Uh, frag bomb.
Frag bomb.
Oh.
Okay.
Gotcha.
Fancy.
Another book.
Yeah.
There's going to be frags for ogrens, but there's no, like, you can still throw it.
Yeah, yeah, no, no, no.
I'm just making sure.
I'm like, where, where is it?
Just so I see the stats, too, in case there's some other weird thing on it.
Um, all right, I know, it's crazy.
All right, so that thing, um, say, as it explodes, um, so...
Hey, chat, type one in chat if you think it's going to eviscerate both of them.
Um, might.
All right, the first one is...
Double checking here.
Uh, I think it does just eviscerate both of them.
Oh, poor Gavolids.
Yeah.
It's, uh, weirdos.
It's okay, you're less of a weirdo than them, Carol.
I'm just saying that they just look a lot more weirdo than you do.
No, you're so right, you're so right.
You tell them.
Yeah, yeah, that's right, bestie.
He fist bump.
Fist bumping him.
Ow.
Break your bones.
Your bones are not good bones.
Oh, no, we're weak.
Break your hand affectionately.
Okay, they can actually both do dodge, so that's what they will do, um, because they're, they're Hildari.
Um.
They probably look down at the giant volleyball of an explosive, and they're like, ah, shit!
Bomb!
Um, okay, so they both make initiative, um, tests.
And sorry, this is, apologies, chat, this is definitely where it gets, like, a bit weirder for the rules.
Area of effect weapons in this game are pretty, um, explosive.
Ha, ha, ha, ha.
Uh, all right, so, um, they roll initiative tests, so I'm gonna do that for the, for the Kabilite here.
Um, and how this works is adding one plus any icons rolled to your, to their, uh, resilience instead of defense.
This is, like, basically them just, like, jumping out of the way, finding, finding something at last minute.
Um, there's no difficulty here, they just roll a pool.
Fair enough.
Um, all right, I'll roll, that's fine.
Damn.
Okay, so they get four successes, so they will add five to their resilience.
So, actually, this eleven, this will not kill the Kabilite warrior.
Ugh!
Kabilite warrior will jump to, to the side.
Uh, I'll reveal this to everyone.
Sorry, I had the self-rules on.
The witch will do the same.
Um, again, similar situation, they roll one.
Um, same general situation, um, they will get four and add that to their resilience, eight.
Oh, the, the witch is quite exploded.
Um.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, because that's going to be, let's find out how much damage that is.
Uh, that's going to be three plus the resilience, seven.
Uh, they would take seven points of damage, but no matter if I make all of my, um, if I make all of my checks, they just, they just fucking, the witch is obliterating from that.
I said, it's one way to the dog, the witch, hey, free spot.
Um.
The firefight could.
Uh, at this point, you could spend a glory to interrupt now.
Now is the, the point when you can do that, so.
Yeah.
I recommend someone do that, so that this Kabilite does not fill us with pain juice.
You know what, I, I say Aloysius can go.
Get a little firing on.
Get a little shot in.
Wow, that is awesome.
Did, is everybody else really done attacking right now?
No, no, I, I mean, technically Roos can go, because he's just going to charge him, but, uh, I wanted to give you a chance to shoot him.
Oh, I, I, that's so nice of you.
If you don't want to, I'll let Roos go.
I appreciate Hulk, he's like, I can't fucking do anything, just kill us.
Roos, you're so nice, the voice in your head is so kind, but I think you should go beat him to death now.
Try and keep him alive, break his legs.
Okay, Roos charges, comes up from his thing, he's just like, no, and he just basically just, uh, repper gun, just firing wildly, as I used our glory point, the siege, the initiative, um, he's basically just going to charge up at this guy, he will get his bonus stuff for his repper gun, that's a salvo, so he would have to reload and stuff.
Uh, but he comes in for the bayonet, and he gets his awesome charge, awesome charge, cool.
Yeah, because furious charge means you get plus rank to any melee attacks you take as part of a charge, which, of course, gives you, it's a full round action, plus one bonus die.
So, we're going to do that real quick, so, we get one thing for the bonus, sorry, it's been, we skipped a week, and everything went out the other ear at that point.
Okay, for some of those bonuses, okay, got that for furious charge, new weapon, plus ranked any melee attack you make as part of a charge, plus plus rank again.
Wait, I'm ready to rank one.
So, I just get another bonus.
Tier two, rank one.
Got it, two bonus die, let's go, baby!
Okay, let me target him so we can actually get this right.
Like, I'm running this stream, I have a billion windows, man.
It's okay, it's okay.
Woo!
There we go.
Twelve!
With four shifts possible!
Okay.
Okay, I'm going to...
So, remember, you can click those shifts, and you can then, um...
Yep, yep, yep.
I'm going to bring them all in for damage.
Uh, so, roll damage.
Uh, that is going to be...
I feel like that didn't go accurately as it should.
Oh, no, I just rolled shit on damage.
It's okay, it's ten damage minus one AP.
Okay.
The trade's reliable.
So, at this point, um, I will...
Okay, okay, okay, one sec, one sec, one sec, one sec, one sec.
God, I want to re-roll that damage so bad.
Bruce, remember, I asked you to keep him alive.
You have a wrath point.
You could roll it.
You could wrath it.
I looked to the team.
Wrath.
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Wait, yeah.
Hey, sir.
Should I re-roll it for max damage?
This isn't the way we find out the truth.
The signs say no.
We don't do it, sir.
We don't receive a wrath, sir.
I'll follow by, sir.
Ten damage.
Okay, ten damage with minus one.
This is going to be five.
Okay.
It's going to roll determination.
But it gets a bonus dice on determination because it's Dark Eldar and you've heard it.
Of course it does.
It's a sadistic bastard.
It's true.
It's very true.
So let's just roll this here.
I'm smiling so wide.
There's a joke I want to say.
There's no time and place for it, though.
Is it cock and ball torture?
No, it's not.
Nope.
It ain't that, but it's in the same vein.
Don't nope.
Nope.
No, I can't say it.
I won't, but.
You know the incantation, right?
Mirror, mirror on the wall.
Yeah.
Show me torture.
Cock and ball.
Stop!
You murder the Kabbalah with that as you come up and just...
Yeah.
Basically, he stabs him with the bayonet and kind of, like, lifts him up.
And he turns to the crowd and goes,
Did I do a good job, sir?
And he pulls the trigger.
The Eldar explodes.
Did I get him?
Thank you, Gildan.
And as you do that, you turn around, you blow this Eldari into just, like, just absolutely destroyed.
You turn around, Rouge Triumphant, but you see behind your fellow party members, from the way you came, something is stocked down the halls.
Uh-oh.
And Aloysius, almost like that, you hear the pinging on your aspects.
As an immense, large, furred creature is suddenly illuminated by the light of your, of your, uh, your Ogryn Roos.
Oh.
Oh.
The clawed fiend has appeared.
All right, break, break.
Let's break here, break here.
It's all I got.
Oh!
Oh, fast!
All right.
All right, we're on break.
All right, cool.
Gary.
Break time, break time.
Tat, I hope you guys are enjoying the episode so far.

Guys, he's behind you!
Blast that fiend out of the goddamn reality!
Oh, big!
Yes, look at you, big boy!
Yeah, funny story.
As you look upon this thing, we're going to learn about the fear rules.
So, starting off with this creature's battle cry, which is...
Oh, hey, it's battle cry, is when you see it, you all have to make fear checks.
Now, don't do that just yet.
There's a way to this madness now.
Of course.
So, as each of you see it, you have to make a, and don't roll this, um, a difficulty three fear test.
That is a resolve test on your sheet.
Now, you don't all roll this at once.
You have to pick the order in which you're going to resolve these.
Okay.
Because you can't just see who all succeeds and where you're spending glory and where you're not.
You have to do these one at a time.
So, who would like to make their test first?
Otherwise, I'll randomly determine it.
This is kind of like an issue with you.
Just go left to right.
I will take it first.
I will be the hero.
I am the genius.
Okay.
All right.
So, I am making a, what is it, a resolve?
Yeah, resolve, and the difficulty number is three.
All righty then.
Goodness gracious, let's see how we are.
Hey, I'm not afraid.
Nice.
You are good.
Who would like to go next?
I'll take it.
Yeah, let's go right to left.
Bruce is like, I need all the non-scary juice.
All right.
All right.
Well, my resolve is only four.
Fear.
Rolling it.
I'm scared.
Scared.
So scared.
I'm so sorry.
We've got one glory.
We have ran out of that.
Unless you've got a glory somewhere that we couldn't see it.
Oh, I see it on the thang.
Sorry.
I don't update the thing.
Yeah.
It would auto-apply if it critted somewhere.
But if we decide not to put in the glory, which we probably didn't, then we can do it.
Yeah.
Well, I'm scared.
We have no glory.
Okay.
So you have the fear condition.
Excellent.
I'm scared.
Aloysius or Rus, who would like to go next?
I have two resolve, so let me quickly get this out of the way.
That's six in a four.
You'll be fine.
Yeah, sure.
You can do it.
I believe.
You're for fear.
Yeah.
Here we go.
Could have been great.
Nope.
Scared.
I have a fear.
Okay.
Finally, Rus.
What's your resolve, Rus?
One.
Ah, so you can't pass this.
No.
But you can complicate it.
That's true.
I'm scared.
I'm scared.
Now I'm scared.
It's like, me and Oda went to go eat or whatever, and I finally get to do that at her.
And I'm just going to like, hey, Oda, what?
It is so deeply terrifying to see it in person, because Zorin is not a small man, and to see
the baby voice come out of a physical person was terrifying.
Okay.
Please don't complicate.
At least.
Just come on.
You can't do it.
Okay.
I didn't complicate.
You're all afraid.
Better than nothing.
I winked at you.
I love it.
I love it.
All right.
So, you're all afraid.
Except for Alden.
The only one that matters.
Actually, quick question.
Am I in a cramped space, Thurston?
Oh, no.
Oh.
Oh, no.
That's true.
That's true.
That's the environment, because I assume the tunnels were big.
I mean, it's fairly cramped.
Oh, fuck.
All right.
Why?
So, for you, just so you know, I have the ability claustrophobic, because Ogrens don't like
being in tight spaces.
Oh, yeah.
That's right.
Whenever you enter an enclosed area, you must make a fear test.
D in two, which is nearly impossible.
I have to roll a six.
Additionally, whenever you roll a complication in closed spaces, GM could spin, well, I didn't
roll a complication in closed spaces, GM could spin one ruin to force you to repeat
that fear test.
I didn't complicate, so you can't spin the ruin, but that's just so you know.
Oh, that's good.
That's good.
I like that.
Yeah.
So, every time I'm scared, I'm fucked.
This is fun.
This is how we fun.
I'm sure it can't be that bad.
Now, what does fear do, everybody?
Let's learn together.
So, fear is going to make a plus two difficulty on all tests for everyone who's feared.
The only way to remove it is for an ally to pass a leadership test that is difficulty
two plus the source of the fear, so five.
So, difficulty five leadership tests can remove it.
So, Alden, very glad that you made your check there, because, yeah.
This thing stands at the doorway.
It is, like, it's breathing through its strange kind of snouted face, nostril, eyes, a tongue
that sort of moves around, almost like a proboscis, and its tail, which whips back and forth,
but has, like, a spiked end to it, seems, stabs out.
Which of your group would like to go first?
I would like to go first.
All right.
And for Alden, if you do a leadership test for me, you get one plus the rank, so basically
you just get an extra die, if you help me.
I see.
For context.
Yeah.
I'm going to stand proud, stand tall, and I'm going to cry out, loyal servants of the
Imperium have nothing to fear from this Xenos.
Hunt it down like the dog it is.
Roos, find your bravery, or die in these tunnels.
Oh, good.
Oh, here.
It's plus the Ogryn's rank.
For rank two, are we?
Or what?
No, tier two, rank one.
That's all right.
I can't get that mixed up.
My bad.
Plus one bonus die.
I'm going to direct it towards Roos.
What's my difficulty number?
Difficulty is five.
Excellent.
All right, then.
Yeah.
Remember, if you want to do multiple actions, you can increase that by two, if you want to
chance it.
I am not interested in doing that right now.
Okay.
All right, then.
All right.
I know.
It's been a week, so...
All right.
That's seven successes.
And one shift.
With a shift.
So you could shift it to glory.
Could I potentially shift it to effect more than just Roos?
Um, I don't believe so.
Let me double check, though.
Because that would be a use of the leadership skill.
I don't think you can do it to effect multiple allies just because of how the difficulty
scaling works.
Okay.
So you could, you could, what I would allow you to do, though, is you could count it towards
an ally.
So the next time you make a leadership, like on Kelrana or Aloysus, you could, like, just
decrease the difficulty.
I'll let you, like, bank it towards them.
Um, I actually think it would be more useful to us to actually have a glory.
Okay.
Because that way, Roos can seize the initiative, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So I will bank it for her glory, and I will just point Roos, Roos, tear the swine limb
from limb.
Can I seize the initiative?
With your one glory, yep.
I'm gonna fuck it up, sir.
All right.
Here we go.
He takes his ripper gun.
Unfortunately, um, it's like, since I want to say that I wasn't able to have any time to
reload after, like, getting the guy and shooting.
So I can't salvo charge into that guy, um, because I would take out the ammo to buy a
ripper gun.
So I'm just gonna normally still charge his stuff, uh, still go after him, so get all
my stuff.
So I'm going after this thing.
Roos suffers up all his courage.
He goes, oh, you're gone, sir.
I'm gonna make sure it does real good.
And he just roos, fierce, fierce charge right at that thing.
Um, forgive me.
I had a billion windows open for the rules.
Oh, you're good.
He charges forward.
Roar!
With the bayonet.
And then two bonus.
Boom!
Not the best rolls in the world, but it's a difficulty of four against it with six successes.
I'm going to roll damage.
Shift it to damage.
Are you gonna shift that?
Are you gonna do the shift to damage, sir?
Yes, I sure will.
Roll damage.
All right, five, five, a six, and a four.
All successes with a double.
That's gonna be 13 damage with AP minus one.
Okay.
Okay.
So, that is gonna hit.
I am going to spend a rune on my end.
Okay.
He spins the rune.
To roll determination.
One sec.
For some reason, rolling determination off of that button never seems to work.
Okay.
Let's do this.
So, 14.
I'm gonna say, yeah.
Not great.
Not the worst, though.
Yeah, couple.
Takes four wounds and three shock.
Couple things happen.
Once it is wounded, I roll a dice.
Uh-oh.
Uh-oh.
Cool.
Nothing happens.
I don't know why.
No, it's because I had you selected.
It doesn't matter.
Um, I roll a dice.
Nothing happens as, uh, you trigger some effect that it has, but doesn't do anything.
All right.
I'm talking a double good, sir.
Excellent work.
Keep at it.
Roos continues the battle.
Okay.
I'm going to go to Claude Fiend next.
So, we did that.
Roos went in.
Now, I will go with the Claude Fiend.
The Claude Fiend, of course, sees you.
Um...
It is going to target you with its claws.
No.
What a fiend.
What a beast.
Citrus.
And it tears.
Stop.
What's your defense?
My defense is two.
Okay.
And it's wounded, so cool.
Um, there.
Bonus dice.
That.
All right.
All right.
All right.
All right.
Going to succeed and hit you.
Oh.
Um...
But, but, but, but, but, but, but, I think, I think, I think I'm not happy with that.
Uh-uh.
What do you mean?
I think, because I see two sixes in there, which would be nice for damage.
So, I'm going to spend another rune point.
No!
To reroll.
No.
Not like this.
He's a fucker.
He is.
A fucker.
He is.
Oh, yes.
Oh, yes.
I'm going to shift both of these.
You see?
I'm going to shift them to damage.
And then, I'm going to roll damage against you.
How can he do this?
He's the incomparable Thurston Hateman.
I'm going to do 12 damage at AP minus one.
Okay.
Resilience is nine, but that'll be eight because of the AP.
Yep.
So, um...
So, there'll be four, so I can determination, which I got a five for determination.
Yeah.
So, I'm going to roll determinations.
You can roll it.
Yep.
So, basically, in the wounds thing, I would be taking four.
So, come on, baby.
Aha!
Yes!
I got a four, six, five, five, and one, three.
I take nothing, but I believe I still take shock.
You take four shock.
I take four shock, which I am almost at full shock.
Yes.
All right.
No wound taking, but Roost is just grabbing onto this thing.
He's trying to claw it.
I'm going to be trying to say, sir, it's gone sick on gory, bitch.
No, and he's just trying to, like, punch back at this thing.
He's tearing at you, ripping.
Just yells at his face, like, oh, get off of me.
Endor, you can endure.
It's the end of its turn, right?
That is the end of its turn.
Who would like to go next?
I would like to go.
Aloysius, all right.
Get him.
Although.
What I would love to do is assist you in combat by not participating in combat in a traditional way.
But I am getting plus two difficulty because I am feared.
To everything, yes.
Exactly.
The year is brutal, yo.
It really is.
But you know what?
Let me.
I feel like I can beat the odds.
Okay.
Aloysius is looking upon this great Denorian and clawed fiend with fear and rapturous awe.
Oh, I would so like to take you apart, but I can't take it apart if you let it carotate me.
Uh, you two, you three can handle this, right?
I can certainly try.
Yes, you can, Captain.
Doing my best.
Allow me to assist.
I'm trying.
And with a, a trilling, as Aloysius' faceplate thrums to life, the servos and gyros in his backpack and his cogitators begin whirring loudly.
As he's activating his targeting routines to find some sort of weak point on this routine, I'm going to attempt to use Identify Weakness on this clawed fiend.
Ooh.
I would presume this is either an elite or an adversary, Thurston.
So, in this particular instance, this is...
What?
No, that can't be right.
One sec.
It's like a space ring level threat, like...
Huh?
Uh, yeah, this is definitely an elite, yeah.
Okay.
Uh, what would be the difficulty for a scholar check?
Um, so, let me see here.
So, this is your Identify Weakness ability.
Correct.
So, I think it specifies that ability, right?
Uh, just that it's...
I don't have a scholar check.
I don't have an actual check number against it.
One sec.
Um...
You can make a skill up to size it.
Difficulty is three, but may vary.
Yes.
So, in this case, I will say that the difficulty, um, on this creature, um, is going to actually be a four.
Just because of its, like, strange alien nature.
Gotcha.
Making sure it's going to auto-apply the plus two here.
Uh, does that auto-apply when I make the roll, or does it have to add that to the base?
I think it auto-applies it, so...
Okay, just want to make sure.
If not, we'll find out.
Yeah.
Okay.
Coolio, Julio.
Let's see what we can do.
That many.
Boom.
Eight successes and a shift.
Ooh.
Yeah, and it looks like it applied with six, so yeah, you're good there.
I could also, I could spend a wrath and fish for another four to get more icons.
Well, when you're, uh...
You got only one wrath left.
Yeah, and you aren't going to get...
When you do this, there's no bonus for, um, shifts on this, so you can really just bank
one for glory, and then...
Glory it is.
Yeah, because you can only max, max bank one glory, so...
Now, my allies will gain plus two ED against the enemy.
Ooh, extra damage.
It's a double rank, yeah, plus two extra damage dice, so when you roll your damage, you get
two extra damage dice.
Cool.
All right.
Kelrana, you're up.
Okie dokie.
That plus two difficulty makes it very difficult to do any of my fun psychic powers.
Uh, so I am going to...
Uh, Roost, do you need help with damage, or do you want a little bit of, uh, a little bit
of help with the pain?
I'm going to do help with the pain, please.
It can't stall to get you.
Oh, it can't stall to get at me!
He's freaking out, man.
This thing's going at him.
Ugh, DN's six for dull pain.
That is a toughie.
I could, I could do a funny little psyker thing, but I don't know if that now is the
time.
If it's easier for you to do smite, do smite.
Uh, let's see.
DN for smite is four, so it would be six as opposed to eight.
Remember, you can also compensate by unleashing your psychic might.
That, that, that is very tempting.
I know, and therein lies the problem.
Yeah, you could, you could go unbound.
He's fishing for complications, what he's doing.
Exactly.
I mean, because it's, because it's what the, because it's what the fans want, right, everyone?
Come on.
All the fans are going, complicate, complicate.
Just go transcending, just all the way.
Oh yeah, absolutely, why not?
Yeah, no, I'm just going to hit it with a smite, um, or actually, um, dull pain is a
free action, so if I smite and then dull pain, I believe I can do those both on a turn.
We did determine that in the test session, right?
Yeah.
You are fierce, so it'll be two and then two again.
It's, it's not two again, because dull pain is the, um, it's a simple action, so it doesn't
count towards the multi-action.
Okay.
Yeah.
That works out then.
Um, all right, smiting the beast, uh, just missed it, damn it.
Yeah.
Because of the fear.
Because of the fear, and I don't have any wrath for that.
Um, so I will just attempt to dull pain on Roos.
You're like trying to smite the lightning, missus, you go to dull pain.
Also the fear, you're just scared of this thing.
I'm so scared.
I'm so fucking startled right now.
Oh, fuck, I can't concentrate.
Somebody else take it.
That's the end of the round, round two.
I'm going to spend a rune.
Like an asshole.
And I'm going to cease initiative.
Uh-oh.
So, I'm going to have this thing attempt to continue to beat up on Roos before it dies.
I mean, we can seize our initiative with our one glory, right?
Uh, no, you can't seize on top.
That's the, the rule.
Ooh.
It's not like a blah, blah, blah, go type thing is my understanding.
Well, then what if both sides want to do it?
Hmm?
Well, then what if both sides want to do it?
Well, so you get to go first innately.
So, me seizing is kind of the, like, uh, I get to get my thing to act, but I have to
spend my rune points, which are very precious to me.
I want to burn the book.
Well, that sucks.
The GM may spend one rune to seize initiative in the same way as the players can.
Um, so, but you act first, so then I go, and then there's no rule for, like, um, yeah,
there's, there's no rule for that as far as I can.
So, get done.
Done.
I'm gonna stab you, Bruce.
Uh-oh.
Uh-huh.
Gonna go with my clawed fists here.
Just, uh, you know, just roll this, uh, this difficulty.
Um, so you, Roos, are, let's see, you're one, is that correct?
You're, or no, you're, you're defense is two, right?
Yes.
Cool.
Uh, ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba.
Sorry, it's got a, it's got an effect on me for some reason.
Okay.
Uh, and then I'm going to, thank you.
So, it, it once again goes in, um, this time...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
tbh.
Okay.
Here we go.
Oh, so that will hit.
Um, I still have rune left.
I could, I could try to fish for more, um, shifts here.
if i get one more i get a shift on damage which is not too bad ah no i'm i'm pretty happy with
this i'm gonna keep it just roll the damage base here uh nine so ten total
yeah no it'll still be nine uh yeah yeah yeah it's still nine ap minus one then makes me eight
so one goes through um so basically you say only one will go through yes roose basically starts
punching this thing back get out of here wow he rolled none of those wow single one i'm going to
wrath that because i don't accept that and not a bad idea okay i'm going to spin rooses
i gotta find myself in our super awesome interface that we have no more wrath that we're gonna
do it do it do it i have to do all the buttons there we go all right there we go yeah no wounds
only one shock so now i am no matter what what's gonna happen i now i'm at five five shock yeah
all right but i did no wounds that's its go yeah now the interesting thing was if i dealt one more
shock to you there or one more damage to you there um it could have hit your maximum shock and that would
have exhausted you which would have been very that's why i wanted so this thing's continuing to
wrestle you it's attempting to just bash you down with its with its big meaty fists roaring angrily
um that's its go who would like to go next um i think i should go next hopefully to um unfurl
our dearest xenos from her state of abject terror yeah go for it all right great so i'm going to take
a look at the xenos come now elder are you a coward or are you a brave scion of your culture you prove
right with your cowardice every assertion we've yet made fight for yourself and um i'm going to be dn5
is that correct yeah all righty then let's see if i can browse my companion you do i do ah
damn it you're right show us what passes for valor among your kind
and uh i think that's my turn all right who wants to go next my helpful racism
uh i'll take the i'll take the next turn uh and i'm going to attempt the same song and dance as
last turn i'm going to start with a smite and then dull pain on roose sure thing uh i know you're
so excited seeing me roll these psychic mastery tests oh it's so good
not like that okay five successes no shifts unfortunately all right road damage
all right a little bit of damage go one hey it's mortal wounds it goes straight through
that's true he can't determine or nothing no but instead gonna roll his funny haha die
not as funny haha dice that succeeds ah i get a personal rune point cool what is that i feel no pain
uh no berserker rage every time it suffers a wound uh i roll a dice if i roll an icon it gains one
personal rune if you roll an exalted icon it gains two personal so so in a weird way ruse is like best
of doing massive damage to this thing if you can because little things like the smite let it roll
like a ton of dice yeah uh so you see this thing just getting angry as your bioluminescent
lightning goes over its fur it rears its head back and lets out this this crazy roar
uh as it seems to like have its eyes focus in more
oh yuck uh and then i'm gonna dull pain on ruse heck yeah
give me the good stuff yeah uh shifts possible one um yeah i'm gonna reduce your shock by a further one
so you put that into potency and then yeah yeah i shift that and it's still graying out the icon
why is it why is it being weird it's it's the question mark for it when you right click it uh
what are you saying shift to uh i just hit shift uh take right click that six right now just say
click the two click the one six right click it and see what that's what you want okay there we go
and then it'll do it uh yep yeah there we go click a play yeah do that and it should do everything
hopefully and did that do that to you nope but i'll try it on my end nope but it's oh wait yeah
it's actually it's in your character sheet it's the thing is but i don't think it applies to shock
though that's the only weird just reduce your shock by two i think right yet okay that works
great for me four three boom baby we're doing great all right so that was your name um speaker
i'm sorry aloysus hasn't gone so people are thank you thank you cal ronda no problem give him l
here let roost do it to see if you can potentially finish this thing off oh you go ahead i was just
saying making sure everyone's getting their plus two extra uh do you have to do it again to give me
the plus two extra or or is it still applied right now the for the identify weakness yeah yeah is that for
the the combat scene or is it per round yeah how long does it last uh dull pain lasts one round no i
mean uh aloysus is like he's the weakness thing so that means i would get extra stuff extra damage
time theoretically i still should because it still hasn't passed a full round of in either case
just you would still link it in chat for us see if you can do that or read it
and we'll just double check yeah just give your allies two times two rank extra damage against
elite or adversaries uh on a related action this just happens to be a scholar check
i'd have to find the exact wording for it because i i made a shorthand on my stat sheet because i
couldn't drag it in exactly yeah so whenever skill um the difficulty number of the skill is usually
three but may vary uh you can only track one enemy's weakness at a time otherwise basically
once you lock it in you can just inform your ally and then they get the bonus so
so the thing we're trying to figure out is is it still applied currently person or yeah yes until
until he picks anyone basically okay got it all right we're just gonna fuck him up sorry i wanted
to make sure because i didn't want to attack i was double checking just in case okay so for ed you gave
me two bonus all right let's do it baby basically roots is like oh i'm told it a stupid thing
oh i hit that rat bastard okay first i'll go ahead and roll the damage i already applied the two
additional die thing to it uh i did a total of 11 damage minus one ap i will now roll the critical hit
just so we can see i rolled a three on the die that is going to be unspeakable carnage a truly grievous
strike the attack is a terrifying display of martial prowess a geyser of gore erupts from the foe's
wound and ragged remnants of their body strewn are strewn across the battlefield target suffers
like a potential six mortal wounds and i can pump glory for more mortal wounds for every glory i spend
so i assume thurston you're spinning a ruin to do a determination so i've done that i spent the
personal rune so don't mark me down a rune um okay this will if it's a personal you were at one
then okay that's the personal just applies to him that's why it doesn't go on the tracker yeah i didn't
know i got it fixed yeah um okay so
becomes exhausted which is good um so that's done yeah um okay the team um so now you're going to
now that he's exhausted um yeah so i roll one d3 plus three mortal wounds team may roost take the
one glory we have to get one more additional mortal wound go for it pleasure all right so basically
one guarantee especially four guarantee mortal wounds of this guy yeah um and then i will roll
to see what the total is actually no sorry it's already done that i think because i don't have to
click the thing there's already three so four mortal wounds to that guy okay so
it stares at you it's exhausted it's on like like it looks almost on its last leg it is going to roll
dice it's going to get a personal rune back but it's still there kind of
uh breathing panting heavily as it stares at you
nice
keeps up the assault you know he's no longer on the back foot ruse is coming up he's boxing this thing
like left and right all right end of roose's turn excellent john roose
he stays on his last legs
i'll one thing i can do is it's already marked so i'm going to attempt a multi-action here because i
did not draw my arc pistol my only real weapon right now i'm going to have to draw it from my arm and
fire it simple so that's a simple action so okay so you can draw and then fire and then you're only
going to suffer the plus two difficulty so yep i i probably won't do anything anyway because i have
such a low uh ballistic skill so uh was it uh to hit for this creature was what thurston
for it's defense is four if you target it it should pop that up but yeah
we turn it ha ha
pistol do the thing oh yeah this will this will go well this will be fine this will be fine yeah
totally totally here we go oh boy well it's not fine and you complicate it so voices
uh-oh uh that is that is true you do have one point left
i'm going to give you his oil that says no complications yeah i have my sacred machine
oils oh um yeah yeah i don't okay so i don't know that's a great question because it is imperial
technology but it's not i don't know if it's gonna be able to apply because i'm not testing i don't
think it applies to weapons in that sense oh let's find out it just says imperial technology but
in in any sense okay yeah in any scene including combat once per oh yeah yeah yeah i just yeah
oh yeah yeah that makes sense yep you can ignore that complication that i will
oh okay oh i'm hold on i've got still okay let me uh let me let me let me let's see what happens
let's see what happens okay worst case dare i miss oh yeah i missed oh we all have no more wrath
no more right we're completely tapped all right well next round i'm gonna spend that personal rune i got
uh oh to have it go first again because otherwise it's gonna die um that's the hope
it's so so the funny part here
so the funny funny he who haha funny is that well you know kind of in a in a in a funny way it's
exhausted um so it can only perform a basic combat action so it can't like aim or multi-attack or
anything else it's just gonna make its attack which it's been doing so that's generally fine
uh it's gonna try to it's gonna try to hit you with its clawed fist one more time ruse
yeah bring it on you can't do nothing against me me and my crew is gonna murder you right here now
well yeah you got only one shift gonna
i see two other sixes though so for every success here i'm gonna spend one of my other rune points to
where you roll this the throes of a dying man
and you complicated that's fine that's fine i can shift that's a lot of successes i can shift two of
these i don't know i don't know how you complicate well we're gonna get there i'm doing the same thing
the players have been doing which is resolve all the effects before the complication right
that's a little bit about that they're about that thursday rolling damage okay 12 with the brutal
not bad not bad yeah i'll take it i'll take it i'll take it i'll take it i'll take it i'll take
it down all the complication nothing to sneeze at he's out of ammo oh no he ran out of ammo do his
hands fall off he's disarmed that is tail spike his tail spike is broken oh he does have a range
detectives oh he's out of spikes dude they're gone there's a funny there's a funny meme here
that i will go but yes his tail spike just like breaks off against roose as he's like beating you
like with these big meaty fists hitting your chest like kind of sliding down you roose like
i'm gonna roll the termination uh so four wounds is total what he would get through
uh i roll the termination and boom baby that's four i like i take four shocks still i roll two
sixes and a four for context that will put me over my shock total well so exhausted it will make you
exhausted yep and at this point if you take any more shock that um yeah it starts going to wounds
yeah it goes to wounds but i don't think as far as i'm aware i don't believe it spills over the first
time i think it's yeah we'll double check it after every icon you roll reduces the number of wounds you
okay uh all right so that's it's go um
who would like to go next oh i could do it boss tear this thing apart roose
you got it boss simple action basically just messing them up uh i think the two additional die stuff is
still there so we're gonna add two additional die for the bonus to ed rolling boom hit it success
five uh no shifts possible that's okay rolling damage 11 damage minus one ap
does that kill it thurston
it's dead
bruce basically it's over describe how you murdered this this tail thing tries to come at the roose he
fucking grabs it and he just snaps it off basically that's that's that's what it'll take for its
complication roose then basically it's just clawed at it just trying to just like oh he just takes the
spike grab its neck and just stabs it right through the the brain that's the brain right through his
mouth so it closes and he goes keep your mouth shut and then roose just tosses it off to the side
like it just slumps to the ground dead and uh roose kind of i have a heavily breathing kind of comes
over and gives a thumbs up and he's all fucked him up boss well done roose capital work oh good gods
i'm the sire bless you this day i knew you could do it but
yeah i knew you could do it hey i'm gonna do without you friends
oh and we couldn't have done it without you now then let's sever its head so it can make a fine
mount in my trophy room hold on i'm severing it yet i want to drag it back to the ship i can learn so
much and i'll save the head for you of course i understand so we want to connect more trophies and
begin our giant conquest through display into display of such but we have a pressing matter of
of evil weirdos with so much sparks and stuff like those guys and he points to the uh dukari corpses
the the mass of yeah fucking flesh bits and armor yeah they almost certainly know we're here now that
wasn't exactly a quiet duty the duty of the emperor says must come first sorry for speaking out of line
and he kind of pokes his fingers no no not at all i'm shocked how shockingly cognizant of you roose
you remember yourself when i at times even forget yes indeed we must end the xenos threat on this
